Another Tremendous Show in the Books!

We are delighted to share the exciting news that our Annual Variety Show was a tremendous success! After weeks of preparation, practice, and creativity, our talented students took to the stage and delivered an unforgettable performance.

From musical acts and dance routines to comedy sketches and unique talents, the show highlighted the confidence, imagination, and hard work of our students. Each performance brought smiles, laughter, and enthusiastic applause from the audience.

We extend our sincere thanks to all the students who participated, as well as to the teachers, staff, and families who supported them every step of the way. Your encouragement and dedication made this event truly special.  A special thank you to Monica Gentilcore, Shelly Bauer, Kristen Berthelotte, Mrs. Langhirt, Mrs. Merrill, and Mrs. DeWalle for working tirelessly to make sure this show was such a success year after year.  We thank you for making this an amazing tradition at SPES.

Congratulations to everyone involved in making this year’s Variety Show a wonderful celebration of talent and community spirit!

Math Night was really Sum-thing Special!

Thank you so much to our sponsor Mathnasium and to our teacher and parent volunteers for such an engaging and informative Math Night! It was wonderful to see so many families and educators come together to celebrate the joy of learning and exploring math.

Your participation in this fun PTO sponsored event helped make the evening truly special. We hope you left with some fun and easy activities and found out just how exciting and approachable math can be for students of all ages.

Rewards for Readers!

We had lots to celebrate after our Read-a-thon totaled 43,000+ minutes of reading and nearly $10,500 raised!  Mrs. Linthicum's class enjoyed a class movie and doughnuts for being the top reading class. Mrs. Repko's class was the top earning class which was rewarded with a special trip to the Sugar Shoppe for a custom candy mix! And congratulations to Charlotte Wallace and Dylan Lugar for being the top readers and top earners at SPES! Thank you to all who participated and to the parent volunteers that helped organize and distribute class and individual prizes.

Green News

The Green School Club has been busy this Spring!  They planted and delivered plants to classrooms throughout the school. The team spruced up as many rooms as they could by delivering the potted plants in the hopes of improving indoor air quality (a Green Team objective).  The team also had a table at the community Earth Day Festival on April 25th to share green school initiatives and resources.  We can't wait to see what Green School initiatives SPES will take on next year!

Together We Shine!

We are thrilled to announce the winners of our yearbook cover contest! This year’s winner is Alice Varney (4th Grade) for her “Beachy Bobcat” design, which will appear on the front cover. The runner-up is Nora Duffy (4th Grade), whose artwork will be featured on the back cover.  Both students will receive a complimentary copy of the yearbook showcasing their designs! We can't wait to see these original works of art when our yearbooks arrive at the end of May!

Purple Up Breakfast

Our school was proud to host another successful Purple Up Breakfast in honor of our military students and families. The event brought together students, families, and staff to recognize the strength, resilience, and sacrifices of those who serve and have served our country.

We are grateful to everyone who attended and helped make the event so meaningful. Celebrations like this remind us of the importance of connection, support, and honoring those who serve. Thank you to all of the PTO volunteers who made the event possible; especially Leslie Adamczyk and Caitlyn Johnson.
