Our Membership Drive is Live!

The most valuable asset within a PTO are THE MEMBERS! There are over 40 programs we manage to support our school and it all comes together with a tremendous team effort. We invite you to join us in any capacity that best suits you. Click below for full details, including a list of our efforts and membership benefits. Fees and donations support students, teachers, and the school as a whole.

September Meeting

Tuesday, September 2nd at 6:00pm

We invite you to attend our first PTO meeting of the school year! All SPES families are welcome, whether you're a current member or not. We’ll discuss the annual calendar, elect a new treasurer, approve our fiscal budget (voting is reserved for members only), introduce our team, and share how you can get involved. Doors open at 5:45pm and we will meet in the Media Center.

As a reminder this year, PTO meetings will alternate between the first Tuesday and first Wednesday of each month.

Get Involved

Whether the lyric "Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends" or "I'll be there for you, when the rain starts to fall." gets stuck in your head (sorry, not sorry) we all know that a PTO's strength is in its number of volunteers!

AND we need you!

Over the summer we've had a number of parents generously raise their hand to lead committees and support programs. However, we are still short of some key roles to continue to provide a lot of the same events, learning enrichment, and opportunities that have grown over the years. Please click below to learn more about how you can possibly lend your talents and time.

Not ready to take the lead yet? Become a committee member! Complete the Volunteer Interest Survey to share your preferences and we’ll be in touch once that committee prepares to meet.

A warm welcome to our new Chief Custodian, Ms. Hall!

Ms. Hall joined the SPES Staff over the summer and has been hard at work with the rest of the custodial team preparing the school for re-opening. We asked her a few questions to get to know her better:

What are you most excited about for the school year ahead?
I am looking forward to getting to know the people in this community and helping to maintain the school to be a clean and a safe environment for the kids.

How long have you worked in schools?
I have worked for the school board for 13 years.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?
The things that I like to do outside of work is spend time with my grand-kids, crochet, and play with my two dogs, Dixie and Bell.

Please join us by saying "Hello!" if you pass her in the halls!

Our SPES Community ROCKS!

Teachers returned to the classroom last Friday and your support of re-stocking the lounge was amazing! Thank you for your thoughtfulness and generosity!

Welcome Kindergarten Students!

Thank you to all the Bobcats (new and returning!) who were able to join us for Kindergarten Signing Day and Popsicles with the Principal! Starting a new school can be overwhelming for both students and families alike as it takes a while to get acclimated to new routines and systems. Please feel free to reach out to the PTO should you have any questions along the way. Veteran parents are always happy to help!

New Projector Has Been Installed

The PTO has been able to support the purchase of a brand new projector for the entire school! The installation was just being completed last week in the gym/cafeteria.

We look forward to it being utilized on various occasions such as assemblies, concerts, and other all-school activities.

The PTO hopes to host a Family Movie Night at some point throughout the school year as well so stay tuned for more info!
