2026 Variety Show MC Application

ATTENTION PARENTS/GUARDIANS: PLEASE FILL OUT THIS FORM WITH YOUR STUDENT.

An MC is the Master of Ceremonies and is the host of a staged event or performance. The MCs at the SPES PTO Variety Show will introduce each act to the audience and will participate in the opening number, act introductions, and curtain call. If a student is selected as an MC, they may not participate in any acts outside of their MC role. An MC must attend every rehearsal and the show in full. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Please note that MC parents are expected to help the MC group create their dialogue and will also be attending rehearsals in some capacity. Mrs. DeWalle is the advisor for this group of students.

Mandatory Dates for all MCs:

Act I Stage Rehearsal	Tuesday, April 14th	at SPES
Act II Stage Rehearsal	Wednesday, April 15th	at SPES
Callbacks	Tuesday, April 21st	at SPES
Dress Rehearsal	Thursday, April 23rd	at SPHS
Performance	Friday, April 24th	at SPHS

Because our show relies heavily on student commitment, there are multiple requirements and obligations an MC must agree to.

Attendance - An MC must attend practice times with their fellow MCs in addition to all Variety Show rehearsals. NO EXCEPTIONS. If selected, do you agree to attend all practices and rehearsals?*

Attitude - As an MC, you will be the most visible member of our show, which means that you will be expected to set an example for the rest of the cast to follow. Do you agree to bring a positive and respectful attitude to each Variety Show event?*

Practice - A successful MC helps the show run smoothly by ensuring they are well-timed and articulate. Do you agree to dedicate time to practicing and fulfilling this role well?*

In order to ensure that an MC is able to fulfill their role, an MC's parent/guardian must also agree to the following:

I acknowledge and understand that if selected, my student will be required to attend all rehearsals listed above, as well as any additional practices deemed necessary by show staff, and that failure to do so will result in them being removed from the show*
